Mets Memory Monday
Todd Hundley - New York Mets (1990–1998)
🧠 My Memory
I was lucky enough to get to quite a few games that year, even with the Mets losing 91 games. Tickets were easy to come by, but the experience was still something special. I remember being at Shea a lot in 1996, and it honestly felt like Todd Hundley was hitting a home run every time I showed up. Watching a catcher do that was unbelievable. In my head, he was the guy before Piazza — the power bat everyone came to see. Looking back, it might not have lasted very long, but at the time it felt huge. It’s still one of those seasons that stands out as a real part of Mets history from when I was growing up.
